Entangled possum gets a second chance
Tuesday, February 6, 2024
This poor Brushtail possum found himself in a distressing situation. He was discovered in early January completely entangled in a child's backyard soccer net. The concerned householder tried to untangle the possum, but he was very distressed and got further wrapped in the net.
She called WIRES for help and our volunteer June was able to safely untangle the possum and check him for injuries. He quickly calmed down and with no physical injuries, was released into a suitable tree on the neighbouring property. The householder is now looking for a replacement net that is safer for wildlife.
