Pouch Rescue
Thursday, March 28, 2013
Last year this young female wombat was rescued by a family returning to Sydney from Wyangala Dam in the Central West. She was found beside the road in her dead mother‘s pouch, she was suffering a fever and was infested with bush ticks. WIRES volunteer, Yvette says that after a course of antibiotics and loving care she is now a fully recovered bundle of health and will be released once she is old enough to fend for herself.
