Brown Cuckoo-Dove
Saturday, July 4, 2015

This is a Brown Cuckoo-Dove. These birds are most commonly found in rainforests and they have a very long tail. The long tail helps them to balance while moving around the canopy and searching for fruit whilst hanging from branches.
They are very graceful flyers and are also known as the Brown pigeon, Pheasant pigeon and Large-tailed pigeon. Their flight is strong and graceful, usually low among the trees.
It is said their call sounds like “did you walk”.
